| Description |
As a result of significant new business opportunities, Our client is seeking electrical engineers work on temporary 6 month contracts to strengthen our skills across the power transmission and distribution sectors in Scotland.
Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience ideally gained within distribution or transmission network operators, engineering consultancy, equipment suppliers or client organisation.
Experience in one of more of the following areas is required:
Electrical plant and configuration design
Protection and control design
Earthing design
Network planning and project development
Power System Analysis
Project management of HV and EHV substation construction
Site management of substation construction
Overhead line design
-Our preferred candidate will also have the following skills and experience:
-
Degree qualified within an Electrical or Electrical and Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
Ideally working towards gaining Chartered Engineering status and keen to develop their experience towards Chartered status.
Experience of working within the Networks distribution sector ideally with exposure to either transmission and or distribution.
Some experience of project management including pricing and costing projects.
Previous experience of being responsible for managing project under the supervision of senior engineers.
Experience of developing electrical engineering design and specification within this sector.
Experience of undertaking feasibility studies and involvement in the production of tender documents.
Able to demonstrate good inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills
Experience of working either independently or as part of a team
Have a good level of competency in all Microsoft Office applications, ideally with the aptitude to learn sophisticated computer aided design and analysis software
Flexible and willing to travel to other offices and client offices both within the UK and overseas if required.
Candidate should possess a full UK driving license.
Responsibilities:
You will have an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience within our Power Generation and Networks team.
Your key responsibilities will be:
To manage projects in line with our client needs under the supervision of senior engineers.
Work as part of a team on large engineering projects.
Developing electrical engineering designs
Developing client specifications
Undertaking feasibility studies
Providing technical input into project tenders
Project Managing in line with your experience.
Additional Information
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a security vetting process and offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted.
Although our positions are full-time, there may be flexibility in working hours for the right candidates
