Furnace Equipment Engineer/Technician (Semiconductors)

Based in South Wales, Eden Scott’s Client is a leader in the semiconductor industry. Their Newport facility continues to go from strength to strength and is the technology centre for all future NPI across the group, focusing leading edge technology on 6’’ and 8’’ CMOS and Power MOSFET processes. In this difficult economic climate they are offering highly competitive salaries and excellent career progression for the right person.

Due to ongoing expansion and increased production they are looking to make the key hires of Engineers and Technicians for Furnace, Photo, Etch and Wet areas.

Reporting to the Shift Engineering Team Leader, your key responsibility will be to oversee all maintenance, sustaining and troubleshooting of the wafer fab equipment.


Responsibilities:

• Completing advanced preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
• PM procedure documentation and improvements
• Supporting a world class organization, achieving manufacturing excellence and establishing a team based collaborative culture
• Participation in a "Continuous Improvement" program and follow "Lean
• Manufacturing" practices to improve productivity and cost effectiveness
• Help establish and execute specific department plans and strategies to achieve manufacturing KPIs. These include cycle time, line yield, OEE (overall equipment efficiency) etc.

Experience of some of the following tools is highly desirable:

Furnace-CVD:
AMD, TEL, SVG vertical furnaces, AST 2800 RTPs, WJ 999/1000 APCVD, Novellus C1/2 PECVD
Wet-CMP:
Akrion, Semitool wet kit, IPEC and AMAT Mirra CMP
Films-Implant:
Aviza FXP, AMAT Endura, Varian 3290s all for PVD, AMAT 9500/Quantum Implanters, Axcelis GSD-HE implanters
Photo:
Nikon steppers, FSI tracks, TEL tracks
Etch:
Lam9400, LAM4420/4520, AMAT Centura, Gasonics Ashers
Final Ops:
Sez wet tools, FET, ASL and Eagle test kit.

Technical knowledge is paramount for these roles, but it is crucial that you have the right drive, attitude and motivation. Communication and strong inter-personal skills are important for you to fit into this multi-cultural and team focused environment.

The successful candidate will have semiconductor volume manufacturing equipment experience, along with a recognised HNC/HND or equivalent in a technical discipline.
