We are looking to recruit a New Connections Designer to join our Commercial team in Scotland. This area of the business is responding to challenging changes in our licence obligations, growing levels of competition, and playing a key role in the progression to a low carbon future.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, costing and quoting new electrical connections for domestic, commercial and industrial developments, at voltages up to 11kV. You will value safety as a priority, minimising risks at design stage for safe installation and lifetime maintenance. A commitment to excellent customer service and good commercial awareness are essential, whilst delivering quotations in line with our Guaranteed Standards of Performance.
The successful candidate will:
· Have relevant electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, or ONC, or have previous experience in a power systems environment
· Be commercially aware
· Have excellent PC skills
· Be able to create designs which promote safety throughout the life of the asset
· Be enthusiastic and flexible
· Have outstanding customer service and communication skills
· Be a team player and able to work to tight targets and deadlines
· Hold a current driving licence
· Provide evidence of their ability to identify and implement innovative and effective business improvements
