SSE Generation, part of the SSE group, is the second largest generator in the UK, with an ownership interest in over 100 thermal and renewable power stations, totalling a capacity of over 10,000MW. We are the UK's largest generator of electricity from renewable sources, owning and operating almost half of the UK's total renewable generation capacity.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to utilise their management, engineering and operational expertise at Foyers 300 MW Pump Storage Power Station at Foyers, Inverness-shire.
Reporting directly to the Northern Hydro Group Manager you will have management responsibility for the following:
- Health, safety and environmental controls during normal operations and maintenance
- Leadership and setting targets and achieving results from your multi skilled team
- Maximising the business value of all outages through planning, co-ordination and review
- Revenue budgets
- Interfacing with other SSE departments
- Supporting other areas of the business
It is essential that you are able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company as well as with external sources. You must hold a current driving licence, an HNC or degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering and have several years’ supervisory experience in the electricity generation industry or a similar 24/7 industrial process.
