Job Title: Assistant Depot Manager
Responsible to: Depot Manager

Principle Responsibilities: The successful candidate will hold day to day responsibility for the operational and internal sales aspects of this major depot with a turnover in excess of £40 million and a staff of 50 plus reporting directly to the depot manager.
You will manage and motivate the staff on a daily basis ensuring procedures are adhered to and customer service expectations are exceeded.
You will create a motivated and committed team, assisting the Depot Manager on all aspects of HR, staff development and recruitment.
You will personally manage staff time keeping, performance, absenteeism, holidays and disciplinary procedures when needed.
You will work day to day as a member of the Internal Sales Team, handling customer’s orders, quotes, enquires, etc.
You will manage in a fair but firm way winning the respect of your team and colleagues
This is a not a role for someone expecting an easy life, however the company prides itself on being a first class employer with a real commitment to its people.
Ideal Candidate: An experienced branch / depot manager or assistant mgr. with a proven track record in leadership and sales (or very capable and ambitious sales / internal person with the ability to make the step up).
You will have a full understanding of the electrical industry and experience of selling into contractors and related customers
You will naturally lead from the front, motivating the team and being assertive when needed.
You will have a good understanding of current employment legislation, H&S and good working practices. You will not be afraid to implement change where necessary to improve the efficiency of the operation if needed.
You will report on a daily basis to the Depot Manager ensure he is kept up to speed on all relevant happenings.
This is a challenging role that will need someone with strong people skills and first class organisational skills.
