Job Title: Senior Contracts Manager / Procurement Manager Eden Scott
Description

The Company
Eden Scott’s client is a major player in the global renewable energy sector with plans to develop a major portfolio of offshore and onshore renewable energy projects. They have an offshore development pipeline of circa 10,000 MW around the world, including a substantial UK Round 3 development programme with a powerful JV partner, UK Round 2 and Scottish Territorial Waters projects and a growing portfolio of European projects located in Germany and France. They also have an impressive onshore portfolio of onshore projects. A key strategic requirement exists for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to be based in the Glasgow office with occasional travel throughout the UK.

The Role
This is a fixed-term 12 month contract (maternity cover) developing and implementing contract strategies, leading the commercial aspects of contracts to ensure that best value is delivered to the client through achieving the best economic and commercial terms.

Responsibilities:

•Leading and managing commercial aspects of offshore wind projects with a focus on development (pre-construction) phase.
•Developing (with the Business) and implementing contract strategies in order to secure appropriate supply chain arrangements in both established markets and geographically new markets.
•Liaising with the Business, JVCo and Credit Risk department in the selection of tenderers.
•Responsible for the tendering process, gathering technical requirements from the Business and reviewing its completeness and managing the electronic tender process in accordance with both purchasing procedures and JVCo arrangements.
•Negotiation of price related and commercial aspects of contracts to deliver our client’s Offshore Business Plan objectives, involving the mitigation of commercial risk and ensuring the compatibility of technical and commercial elements; preparation and negotiation of commercial schedules and ensuring compatibility with technical schedules.
•Preparing approval papers and supporting the obtaining of authorisations for contracts.
•Providing contract advice and support to project managers during the post-contract phase of projects.
•Establishing strong long-term relationships with key supply chain organisations.
•Assisting other project teams and supporting due diligence processes for offshore windfarm acquisitions when workload requirements permit.
•Identifying and recommending strategies to address new technologies and areas for delivering improvements in value.


The Person
•Degree educated in a commercial, legal or business discipline
•Previous procurement/contract management experience within an engineering context is essential.
•Demonstrable track record in negotiating and closing high value contracts of a complex nature.
•Good all round understanding of financial, commercial and business principles and risk mitigation practices.
•Strong computer system skills including e-tendering systems.
