Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000-£45,000 Dependent on skills and experience
The Facilities Management Bid Manager will take the lead in the planning, management and development of the technical solution for all aspects of my client’s Facilities Management bid proposal. It is anticipated that the role will migrate to an operational position on the success of the bid.
This role would suit ex-military candidates who have an experience of working with Defence Estates and applications from ex-service personnel are actively encouraged.
Responsibilities
• Development of a stakeholder management and communications plan for key contacts within customer and end user community to support and inform the key technical drivers and evaluation criteria for the opportunity relative to the hard and soft FM services.
• Undertaking and fully documenting those tasks defined within the Business governance process as directed by the Bid Manager and or Account Lead.
• Preparation and agreement of a clear schedule of activity including descriptions of tasks to be undertaken and timescales for completion.
• Support and contribute to the preparation and completion of PQQ questions as required by the Bid Manager including researching of content and the writing and formatting of answers.
• Undertake research and development as directed to support the delivery of tasks contained within the Outputs and Deliverables schedule of activity for the Preparation, PQQ and Competition stages of the programme.
• Assist with the development of a comprehensive and cost effective delivery model which fully meets customer and client requirements, taking into account existing delivery models and industry best practice.
• Contributing to the procurement strategy including buy/make decisions, and supplier choice
• Assist with the development of a gap analysis across project scope, to inform of infrastructure capability and the wider group capability
• The development and upkeep of a comprehensive competitor analysis
• The development of an intelligence library and the associated upkeep of this library, in particular information gathering
Special considerations or requirements
• Ability to obtain MOD Security Clearance required
• Current full UK Driving Licence
• As this is a national opportunity the candidate must be prepared to travel and stay away from home on occasions, potentially for extended periods.
Professional Qualifications required
• Degree or equivalent
• Membership of or working towards full membership of an industry recognised technical institution
Experience
Essential
• Experience of working in PRINCE2 based project environments
• Experience of working within the MoD / Defence Estate sector
• Knowledge of Hard and Soft FM management in commercial environments
Desirable
• Experience of Tender bid processes
• Understanding of Government and Private sector service contract arrangements
Skills
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• A good communicator able to gather information quickly and concisely in what can be a high pressure environment i.e. where projects are running to very tight deadlines and involving multiple work streams.
• Professional and highly organised - ability to work under pressure, plan workload, complete admin tasks, operate to guidelines and communicate with the teams
• A clear and thorough communication style both verbally and in written form with the ability to write clear, concise business English.
• Ability to show initiative.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a complex matrix structure.
• Good presentation skills
